Guess I'm going to sell the VTX

    Hey all,

I haven't been active since the weather turned cold (the bike hasn't been on my mind as much), but I think I'm putting it up for sale. I was casually browsing the motorcycle listings on CL and "discovered" the Valkyrie Interstate. I know there's threads about them here, but I had never paid attention - never seen one. It's the perfect blend of cruiser and tourer for me. As I don't have the discretionary income to be a two-bike guy, I'm gonna have to ditch the VTX (which I love). I found a 99 Interstate with 54k miles for $4500 and it seems like a good deal. Aftermarket pipes, seat, nice looking bike.

That is a big bike, as in wide.
My legs can't flat foot a Valk.
    Good luck in your search.

There are some who say the Valk is more nimble than the 1800. If you need some more info from one who has had both, over on the VTXOA you can PM 'PAVALKER'. He's not that big a guy either. He is registered here, I believe, but when he posts, it's usually more over there.

A Valk, just like a Goldwing, will be MUCH more nimble than an 1800 or even a 1300. They both have a flat 6 engine with most of the weight very low on the bike. For an example, do a Google search for "yellow goldwing on dragon", watch the videos, and be amazed. That bike can fly as can the rider.

The Valkyrie is a great bike, very smooth engine but the 1800 will stomp it. Not much room if you are 6'+ either. But great engine lots of torque, Interstate has the trunk. Tons of examples over 200,000 miles.
The inner fairing of the Interstate is VERY dated now, tons of cheap looking plastic. Personal choice....
