That's definitely a studded Mustang seat package with pillion and driver's backrest

And I hate "studded". All studded stuff will be first to go, then windshield, I want hard bags and a fairing.

    My $.02:

    I'm a bigger guy - 6'2" and about 235 lbs. I have a 1300, and I love it. I've also previously had an 1800 that I also loved.

What I disliked about the 1800:
    1) It's top heavy - i found it a bit unwieldy to turn at low speeds (like in parking lots)
    2) Fuel mileage was worse on the 1800. That's really not a huge deal now, but back then I made a lot less money, and fuel was over $4 a gallon.
    3) Being fuel injected, it's more difficult to tune.

What I dislike about the 1300:

    1) It's down on power quite a bit from the 1800. That being said, it's still pretty peppy. If i want to go fast, I get on my SV650S.
    2) It's moody about running right on cold mornings. That will probably improve once I decap my airbox, change the exhaust, and dial in the carb.

What I liked about the 1800:

    1) power, power, and more power.
    2) Ran just fine on cold mornings.
    3) it's a VTX

What I like about the 1300:

    1) easy to tune a carb
    2) single pin crankshaft sound
    3) It's a VTX

If I was doing a lot of 2 up highway riding, I'd absolutely want an 1800 now. If I was doing mostly in-town riding, I'd want the 1300.

In all honesty though, you're gonna like either bike.

Eh, I'll admit my 1800 doesn't sound like a Harley, but it does sound similar to a old Johnny Popper at idle (for those who don't know that is an old two cyclinder John Deere tractor). But then again, the V&H Big Shots probably help that a lot
