    Motorcycle Custom Painting

Anyone got any tips, or do's and dont's when it comes to changing your bike from the Stock color. I'm not trying to go super exotic but I need to make the bike my own.

If there's a thread about this already please point me that way.

    I have a 2005 1300R.

Don't send your tins out of state to someone who says they'll do a great job for you. A member from here in Ga. sent his off to Seattle for a Patriot themed paint job and never saw his tank or fenders again. Go as local as you can and get a few references if possible.

If you're willing to send it off and spend a bunch of money, then you got nothing to lose trying to paint it yourself first!!

Good materials, primers and paint at great prices: http://www.tcpglobal.com/

I use materials from their "Custom Shop" all the time. It is actually made by PPG. Very happy with the results.

bottom line dont do anything unless you know who your dealing with and can possibly see some of the work they have done.
Im from Canada and have no idea how prices are in the US but up here for a good paint job 3 piece fender fender tank about $800.00
air brushing and the price can go up to a few thousand.
I had my bike HYDROGRAPHIC dipped 8 pieces $2,600.00 canadian
Fairing, hard lowers, tank, front fender, rear fender, and both side covers.IMG_5181.JPGIMG_5183.JPG

First, Welcome to the CAFE, from Leesburg, Virginia!

As the first post said, BD's. Unfortunately, I haven't been able send him my tins, but his work seems top-notch, he's done a number of members here, and he's answered my emails.

Just keep in mind that white is the most comfortable color.

    Be safe and enjoy.

Listen to baker6x6... he does good work from what I've seen, and helped me with some great instructions/advice when I painted my fairing!
