Look at what Triumph is doing. They are targeting hipsters and such with the revamped Bonneville line and are doing well. That bobber is kinda wacky but they are selling. Their cruiser line is dying off. Sign of the times I suppose.
It really wasn't that long ago that bikes didn't last long but now we keep them longer.

Harley is trying to become more relevant. Might just be in time. These things go in cycles. (No pun intended). We shall see. Showcasing American made bikes might lure some back, and maybe spur on more American development, as in new companies opening up with affordable rides.
