Let some of us northern folk know when you will be around. We may be able to catch a few miles with you as well. Once you get into Virginia there are quite a few twisties. If you get off on 58 at the meadows of Dan there are two gas stations and a wonderful place called Nancy's candy. They have whatever sweets you want. Then you can head down the mountain on 58 past "lover's leap". Once you get through those twisties you will see #8 on the left. That puppy gets really curvy. It will take you back up to the parkway in tuggle's gap. There is a little restaurant there that has a pretty good burger. Let us know when you are around. There is also squirrel spur highway, but it would take some explaining on how to get to. It takes you right into meadows of dan.

Thanks, Jimmy. I'll put that on our itenerary and check it out.

I'll have to check that out. My biggest problem is that I am riding with a group of people who some are not as enthralled with twisties as I am. I will probably have to break out and ride with some of you guys and catch up with them on down the road. I am always open to meeting up with some of the CAFE guys and riding and tipping beer cans.

Check out Little Switzerland...their restaurant has a FANTASTIC blackened Prime Rib. https://switzerlandinn.com/

Also, the loop from there down 226A to 226 and back up is a blast! http://www.blueridgemotorcycling.com...dback-nc-226a/

I second the riding around Little Switzerland. I spent 4-5 days riding there this past October. The diamondback (NC 226A) that Big-X mentions is a good ride but don't skip the right hand part of that loop, NC 226. It is also good. Another good thing about the Little Switzerland area is that it is about 1 mile from an entrance/exit to the BRP and that area is full of services (gas, food, lodging, beer, Walmart, etc).

Good to hear from Ray. (You too Jim, but I haven't seen Ray around for a while it seems)
I've stayed at the Switzerland Inn several times for 3 to 5 days each time.
Have ridden all the good roads around there.
Agree that the Prime Rib is awesome.

Riding up Mount Mitchell is a definite attraction on a clear/partly cloudy day.

Try to be around Laurel Springs after 11am for a good lunch and very, very cold beer at the Stations Inn, right off the parkway.

Depending on the dates/days of week I'll try to get up with you and ride a day. Oh, and a cold beer or six.

OK Here is my itenerary for my BRP ride. I know some of the legs are short, but the route is designed so we can make excursions as desired along the way.

Fri June 2 Jacksonville, FL to Thompson, GA
Sat June 3 Thompson to Sunburst Ziplines in Clarksville, Ga then to Cherokee, NC
Sun June 4 Cherokee to Asheville, NC via Wheels Thru Time, Maggie Valley
Mon June 5 Asheville to Boone, NC
Tues June 6 Boone to Roanoke, VA
Wed June 7 Roanoke to Waynesboro
Thurs June 8 Waynesboro to Luray Caverns to Front Royal and then back to Lynchburg, VA
Fri June 9 Lynchburg to Lowell, NC to spend the night with Bruce (Exharleydude)
Sat June 10 Lowell to Beaufort, SC
Sun June 11 Beaufort to Jax

I am planning to meet Vinish in Asheville for beers and maybe dinner.
Fishingfoolemjak is in Sylva, which is a stones throw from Cherokee, so I hope we can tag up somewhere.
If any of you other guys, Jody, Baker, Bruce, whomever want to scoot over near the BRP let me know and Ill try to meet up somewhere for lunch or a beer stop.

Can I meet you guys at breakfast in Cherokee (I'd recommend Peters Pancakes on Tsali Blvd, a local joint!), and then I'll ride with you to wheels thru time.... ?
