It just unbolts from the mount. Follow the wire back to the bundle under the right side cover and unplug there....OR easier....cut and splice the old wire under the fender.
Yep; what shyman said. It unbolts inside the fender. Easier to cut and splice if you can/don't feel like running wire. Make sure to make a good connection and use some heat shrink tubing if you can to seal out moisture, dirt, etc. if you decide to splice.
That about wraps it up. While your at it you may want to look at Kurys run time brake module. Easy to install just read the directions a few times.
PS you will have to change the lense color to red per DOT.
atriot: Thanks for the info . I just got my light in today. Think I will try after supper to fix it. I will let y'all know how it goes. Just got my 1300 (brand new) last saturday. Dumped in front of the dealer right out of make ready. Pretty fringin impressive if I do say so. Graduated from a Honda Reflex. Now if I can just remember 1 down 4 up. (long story) Look forward to getting to know everyone. KEEP ON RIDIN.
I too just step up from a rebel 250 three months ago, but had the dealer delivered the bike home (used 1300c) too scared to ride it home. Now 2,000 + grinning miles.
When I had to replace my turn signal I reached under the fender and loosened the metal tabs that hold the wire in place. Then I cut the wire off of the old turn signal and pulled the old wire out by the battery pulling the new wire with it.
