I think that HD had something to do with it.. I believe the folks over at HD paid off Honda to stop this beast that was going to take over the world and cut into their t shirt profits...

That is also why you don't see as many nice VTX shirts as those other guys have...

    Yup, big pay off scheme...

Oh yeah, and Welcome to the Cafe..

Supply and demand. Honda supplied and nobody demanded. Great bike, though. Consider yourself one of the lucky few in the know.

I never understood it myself. Why the 1300 outsold the 1800 in such great numbers?? Beats me. Now Honda's newer lines, Fury, Sabre and Stateline are only available in the 1300. There is a market for the bigger engines, Victory, Kawi and Yamaha all offer engines at least that big if not bigger. I still believe Honda will release and 1800 on another platform fairly soon.

i was in Canada last year had read an article that gave the stats on bike riding most riders only ride for three years pick it up again for a short time. And the second bike is a little bigger "1300" thats the demand riders that stay riding progressively move up "1800" some of us just like it fast instead of making a 1300 faster we start with a 1800 and make it fester.

I did look at the 1800 before buying the 1300. Liked the 1300 better for a few reasons. I would stick with the 1300 if given the choice today. Bigger isn't always better and I think a lot of people felt that way when comparing the two, which is one reason 1800 sales languished.

I preferred the 1300 over the 1800 so I got the 1300 and it has more power than I can legally use.

I bought used 5 years ago and have put 61,500 on it and the odo reads 71,260

Used to be a day when a 750 was a big bike, and a 1000 was ridiculous big...My 1300 has almost twice the engine of a 750, and I really don't need 500 more CC's....Apparently alot of people feel the same way I do, as Honda had ALOT of 1800's sitting in warehouses waiting for somebody to take them home...

Will they bring back the 18000??...Don't know and really don't care...Perfectly happy with my old school carb'd 1300...

If they aren't moving you can't keep building them This country is all about big is better but other countries buy the smaller bikes. They still sell more dirt bikes than any other kind of bike.
