    Magnet to trip traffic lights

Has anyone ever used one of those magnets they sell that's supposed to help trip the traffic lights? I got stuck at a light today. Fortunately traffic was light enough for me to make my turn.

Yes, I run two Rare Earth magnets on my bike and I think they work to change the lights but hard to tell.
They do collect some interesting things off the road though!

The easiest way to trip a light is stop mid way through the strip and place your kick stand down on the strip. The metal of the kick stand connected to the bike will help in most cases

Hmm. Haven't tried that. I have read where you should try and straddle the strip with the bike but that never seemed to help. I'll have to try the kick stand thing.

Just make sure you are in Neutral or you will be sitting at the light with a dead bike.

Cool, there is a light like that coming out of the Public near my house and I always have to go through the parking lot of the restaurant beside it to keep from having to sit and wait for a car or run it. I'll try the kickstand trick next time, thanks DD!

I had one on my Shadow Spirt 1100 for a couple of years and I didn't feel that it helped any. It seemed like the "side stand" down in the loop works, but I didn't like sitting there out of gear. Vehicle that hits my bike at 5 MPH can cause lot of damage to this old fat body of mine. Wishing all well.

I'm one of those that will just go ahead and run the light if it's safe. Can't see some light telling me what I can and can't do. And I'd bet if a cop got you for it, it would be an acceptable excuse to just say it wouldn't turn. Thankfully I've never had to test that theory.

I'm not sure if anyone else knows how to find it, because I couldn't. But there's a thread on here somewhere with a link that shows which states have a law on the books letting a bike run a red light after a certain amount of time.
