Just dropped my uninsured motorist coverage

I have Geico insurance, I was paying $640 a year for my bike insurance, I dropped my uninsured/underinsured, and dropped my premium to 199 a year.!!

I have Progressive, and pay just under $300 including uninsured coverage. Too many illegal drivers running around for me to count on them having insurance.

IMO, not the brightest thing to do. What you should be doing is going insurance shopping. You're paying too much. My insurance runs a little under $400/year.

I pay $200 through Progressive. I have discounts for the MSF courses, and have full coverage minus personal medical (active duty military covers that). I'd keep the uninsured motorist. Get pasted by a migrant worker with no insurance and you are left footing the bill.

On a side note: I have some nasty things to say about Geico and how they don't support the military worth a shit & will weasel out of their financial obligation if they have the chance. If anybody wants, I am more than happy to share my experiences with them and those of a few of my buddies in another thread.

I'll have to double-check my cost, but it's not high. It relies on my work health insurance plan for hospitilization costs. As well, I added hospitalization insurance for a few dollars. It actually covers me anytime I would have to go to the ER, and pays daily amounts if I get checked in. Doesn't cover planned events, only emergency.

I agree about not dropping the uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and instead looking at other insurance companies. However, for some people thinking that price is too high, remember that insurance rates will vary depending on where you live.

I went from GEICO after 18 years to USAA after they opened their membership up to all ranks active/retired and saved over 500.00 a year on my car and truck conbined; same exact coverage. You might want to look into them. For the bike, full coverage including un/under insured w/3,000 accessoried included with Nationwide for less that $300 a year.
