I can see us starting the day at 10 but more realistically 11 and poss even just a bit later...this crew likes to have fun. We will be meeting bot Kirk (skuleman) and Gary (wingd) at the border the day before and I think they are staying with the crew for the night.

That day I am hoping to take a run along Gibson Lake and by the canal locks and up into NOTL for a bit of a look around... From there, we will be following the river along until we get to the Peace Bridge with is a healthy run...

PM me your ph and I can text or speak with you once we hit Canada if u like...

If u r interested in joining the group today..we wont be crossing until about 3 but I think Kirk will be heading down from Newmarket if u want to come today and stay the night at the hotel listed above as well...

Will be a good day and I am considering a night ride (although it Pales in twisties compared to the South) just to bring any interested through the shorthills and maybe give them a chance to see the Falls all lit up at night...

A quick update from the Canadian side of the ride:

I rode down with Skuleman and Larry from Dundas to meet the US VTX crew at the border. I had only met Larry once before and Skuleman just that morning. Coincidentally, all three of us were on VTX 1300's in rare white or yellow.

We set out about 11:00 to outrun some showers heading our way and wound our way through wine country and a bunch of back roads and twisties, taking a few hours to cover what would normally be an hour run on the blacktop. We didn't get wet but it was still coming and when we heard that the US group was delayed (leaving late after staying up the same ) Larry had to peel as he had planned to not stay over that night and didn't want to travel home in sure rain. It was too bad, as he rides a bone stock bike and was looking forward to seeing various pipe/seat combos for consideration.

Kirk and I continued on and made Niagara Falls by 1:00

We got a text from Flemenko that the arrival time was now 3:00 (ish!) so we headed for the border crossing in order to have time for a bite to eat and wait. We were keeping a wary eye on thunderclouds that kept rolling closer and dodged the odd raindrop but not enough to don the rain gear in 85 degree weather.

No sooner had we made the rendezvous point than another text
-new arrival time now estimated at 5:00 (ish!)

With the thunderboomers heading ominously closer, that was our clue to head to the hotel after a quick stop for beers and wait for the rest there.
No sooner had we settled in when the Heavens opened and wave after wave of rain, wind and thunder/lightning swept through.

My thoughts and prayers were with the rest but I was glad Skuleman and I weren't with them. When they finally arrived about 8:00, it had taken hours longer than it should have to make the last hundred miles.

Long story short, it was great to finally put some faces to the screen names, great group of guys and gals. We had a terrific dinner at a roadhouse across the street and many got a night ride in down to Niagara Falls to see them all lit up in their glory. Some brave souls even got back up for a 6:30 am ride through some local twisties.

Today's ride went through one of the most picturesque cities in Canada, Niagara On The Lake, and back for some icewine tasting and through the falls for those that missed it the previous night.

I had to cut out at that point and head back for work tomorrow morning.
I wish the rest safe return and again, it was a pleasure to meet you all.

Special thanks to Les and wife for all their hard work and the snack/support wagon! I can't wait to see all the pictures posted!

i agree kirk...it was great meeting everyone i hadnt met, and also great seeing the ones i knew. was very nice meeting and riding with a few "north of the border" as well...and like i said, beth and i look forward to more trips up this way in the future. you canadians (and anyone else) are more than welcome to come to west virginia for a tour/vacation anytime too...

and wngd, next trip you make down our way...let me know. we will see how well that yellow bike does in the mountains

We did have a great week. This was the first time I met everyone except epi. What a great group. I didn't want it to end.

Just got home from a great trip to Niagara Falls. Had a great time meeting everyone and especially enjoyed the hospitality of Mr and Mrs Epiphysis. We always wanted to see Niagara Falls and to see it with a great group of fellow VTX'ers was certainly a plus.
