Glen's Signal Beeper/4-way Flasher
Glen,
I just finished the install of your prototype Signal Beeper W/4 way flasher kit. Excellant job of design and very easy to install, especially the written instructions (anyone can perform this install). Hardest part of the job was removing the seat to access the battery. The beeper is loud enough (without being ear piercing) to be heard with engine running. The 4 Way Flasher works without the ignition switch being on and the beeper is cancelled with them on. This is a plus when on a PGR mission to not have the beeper activated for a long period of time. My compliments to Glen's VTX Garage for a fine quality product. |

I finished installing the prototype that Glen sent to me a little while ago...I already had my seat off, as I sent it to Bad X this morning...Total time was about 1 hour to install...I ended up breaking one of the red quick splice connectors, and didn't have a spare, so I just trimmed away the insulation and soldered the last wire....No big deal, as I don't plan on removing this setup anyways...I also had to use my Dremel to widen the mounting slot in both horseshoe wire ends for the ground, and the positive wire to the battery..Again, no big deal for me, as I also used the Dremel to make some clearance for the wires in the plastic thing covering the battery that holds the bike's ECU...Otherwise, it was smooth as butter to install..The instructions are by far the BEST instructions I've ever seen for a product...Full color pics, and detailed instructions...Very idiot proof!!!..(Disclaimer: I'm not calling anyone an idiot!!) LOL!!!...I've added this setup, and also the battery tender wire inside the right sidecover, and it's pretty crowded in there now...Had to be a bit inventive to package all everything in the available space, and get the side cover back on..But it all fits nice and snug....Had my fiancee' Jenny out there holding my droplight, and fetching tools for me..I tried the four-way setup first...Works great!!!..Then turned the key on and hit the turn signals...It scared the crap out of her!!..She jumped, and we both started laughing our butts off!!..Good thing I wasn't drinking a beer at the time, I would've spit it out all over my bike!!!...All in all, I give it a multiple thumbs up!!!..Awesome product and great idea...Now I won't look like a dufus riding down the road with my signal on anymore...
On a side note...I was telling my buddy that has a 1970 Harley Electraglide about this yesterday....He said that his Harley has a four way setup already on it, and was surprised that Honda doesn't equip the VTX's with those from the factory....I then responded that it's a Honda, and the engineers at Honda have confidence in their bikes that we won't need hazard flashers, because Honda's don't leave their owners stranded on the side of the road!!... ![]()

Ok, I've also finished my proto-type install that Glen sent me (I already had his turn signal beeper installed). As usual Glen sent everything I needed +plus+ color coded instructions "with PICTURES", which of course helps greatly with the installation for electrically challenged folks like me. Thought I'd got a bum relay at first cause the second I hooked up the battery lead, the signals started blinkin'!! all four of them!! , well after a couple of seconds I realized that the first thing I did was install the switch to the frame...oh...the switch...um, it has an "on", "off" position. LOL, well makin' a long story short. The install only took me about 35min (one and a half beers), and other than my mind fart with the switch, was a real smooth install. And remember...if you have the flashers going, your turn signals are inoperative...you must have the switch off for the turn signal turn operate. Also the switch is "battery direct", meaning your key doesn't have to be on, so try to remember to turn the switch off at the end of the ride, parade, guard duty or emergency situation, or you'll run yer battery dead!
Thanks Glen once again you have come out with a top quality product!!

Glen, I recently got the beeper. Can I add the 4 way alone...or do I need to hook up with you to get the whole new kit?

Sorry, but I forgot to include a couple of pics with my post.....here is what my finished product looks like. This is under the right side cover...once the cover is installed you can barely see the switch!! Thanks again Glen, for a top notch product!
