Was hanging out with a buddy and went to put new battery in my '03 VTX 1800R. Neither of us caught the fact it was backwards. I tried starting it, no luck (obviously). I then realized it was backwards. I hooked it up correctly, and now when I turn key to ON and kill switch ON, I get no sounds...

Hi everyone, I have been riding regularly since I got the bike since it’s my only vehicle and I use it nearly daily for my commutes. My starter switch had been working on and off for months, sometimes starting the bike after a few pushes and sometimes not. I figured could be low battery so I...

I have a 2004 VTX 1300S and have charged my battery fully and when I turn on the key the lights are very dim like it has little to no juice. I have checked the fuses but haven't tried to jump start it. Starter won't even turn over at all. HELP. I wanna get one last ride in before the cold sets in.

Troubleshooting a possible short (VTX 1800C 2002). I noticed that with "Key Off" there are still some circuits closed and "on". Should this be true? What circuits and parts are "hot" when key is off?

I have a 2002 VTX1800C. I recently replaced all the standard lights with LEDs. The LED headlight, taillight, license plate light, and front turning signals went on without any issues. Once I put 1156 LEDs in the rear turn signal housings, that’s when I ran into problems. Both of the rear turning...

Hi guys, long time reader and first time poster. I'd like to add a disclaimer that I am generally not very handy and have never done electrical work. Normally, I take to a shop but they want to charge me a ton to tow. I'm riding a 05 Honda VTX 1300R. Had it knocked down in a parking lot a...

So, getting her warmed up for the season, running a little rough. Seems to be going through fuel at 2x. Ok, spark plugs? Yep, pretty much end of life, so changed them. But my bike has a wierd thing, the key can be taken out while it's running. So, oops, I left it on. Come out the next...

Hey guys I'm new to the community coming out of Provo Utah and this page seems a lot more reliable/awesome than most other pages I've seen. That being said I've got a problem that's really left me scratching my head! So 5 months ago I bought a 2005 1300c and I LOVE IT! I ride every single day...

Hey Guys, I'm headed out on a trip in about 5 weeks and I have no speedometer, odometer, left turn signal or any lights on the cluster except green neutral (when applicable) and red oil before I start the engine. I checked the voltage and ground on the green plug under the tank for the...

2004 VTX model C 45 k miles. Had bike two years. Rode in rain 2 times. First time was not far. Second time I rode in rain for 30 miles and it then began to pop, sputter some and got progressively worse till I pulled into a gas station and called for a tow. I may could have rode home but I...

I just bought my 2006 Honda VTX 1300C from someone. This is my first bike and I'm trying to learn and do everything myself. For the most part it has done really well. The pervious owner laid the bike over at some point and then put some really cheap turn signals on the rear. I bought and...

Hi all, can anyone give me some direction on how to hook up the Honda line heated grips on a 2002 VTX1800R? I bought the grips they are supposed to be for the VTX 1300, I'm pretty sure that they will work on the VTX1800 they come with two different sets of connectors, just would like to know if...

 Ok so I am trying to figure out the best way to connect my radio/amp without harming my electrical system. Several years ago I put a power distribution block under the left side cover. I thought it was wired hot all the time and therefore, needed a relay to connect my radio. What I...

2005 1300 R/S with 107,000 miles. We replaced the relay, but my turn signals still don't work when the air temp is under 55 degrees or so. Sometimes they will work after I press the switch several times, sometimes not. They work fine when the air temps warm up. I take 3 freeways to work in...

I went out to ride my bike today and noticed no milage readout, oil light or temp. Backlight on meter was off too. It started and ran fine, headlights worked, blinkers worked and shown on meter readout along with brights. I did not take it out so I didn't check if speedometer worked. Figured...

I've been looking to install a power outlet for a while now (all I want is to be able to plug my phone in so it can charge while sitting in my saddlebag when I'm on longer rides), but while I'm not terrible with electrical stuff, it's not something I do all the time, either, so I'm still a bit...
