1300C riders: Mustang Sport Touring vs. Ultimate Midrider

Planning to finally replace the seat on my 1300C in the next couple weeks. The wife can't take the stocker any more.

Does anyone have advice on the Ultimate Midrider vs. the Mustang Sport Touring (with rider backrest)? I'm a somewhat big guy: 6' 4" / 245 lbs.

I like the idea of the backrest, but the Mustang looks like it's going to sit a little lower than the Ultimate? Being kinda tall, I'm afraid I'm going to be a little folded up if I sit much lower. How's the back support on the Midrider? (It's not available with a rider backrest).

Thanks in advance!

I am sure you'll love the Mustang. I just did a ride from Toronto, Ontario to Cape Spear, Newfoundland, and back through ME, NH, VT and NY. Only needed to stop for gas, coffee, pee, & sleep. Not once did I do a sore butt stop.

Yep you got a Mustang alright. GG
I've spent more than a few hours on the Mustang and the Big Boy, never rode the mid-rider.

Myself and everyone in this area agree on one thing about the 2 seats, we all find we sweat less in the crotch and hip area on long duration rides with the Ultimate. Pants stay drier and fresher.

Outside the above statement, seems no agreement can be reached by any 2 sets of hips around here, about those or any other seats.

I find both manufacturers make a very comfortable seat!
I have the Mustang sport touring seat and love it. I am 6' and don't feel cramped. Alot of people like the Ultimate as well. Either will be a vast improvement over the stocker. Don't know this for fact but have heard the Ultimate may soak up more water due to the stitching.
Does everyone has the same opinion that the Mustang seat move you closer? I am 6"4" and don't think I need to be any closer.
got my 1300c in July, ordered the Midrider a week later. Just did a 300 mile trip last Saturday........No pain except for my neck. A windshield will be next.
Just got my Ultimate. Great seat, great feel on long rides. Wish I had gotten it when I bought my bike.
Gonna test out my Ultimate today. Looks great and feels good, going to take a longer ride today and see if it was worth the money.
Congrats on the new seats everyone! I have the Ultimate lowrider and I've loved it from day 1. Mustang makes a fine seat also and comfortable too. You can't go wrong with either one.

I know when I got my Ultimate it did take me a day or two to get used to the seat. I've been over 600 miles in one day and had absolutely no "butt issues".
I just got back from Bike Weekend in Key West. It was a three and a half hour trip home to Fort Lauderdale. This ride on the stock seat convinced me that I had done the right thing when I ordered a Mustang Seat last week. Should have it by Wednesday and looking forward to a hope fully more comfortable ride. By the way, of the thousands of bikers in Key West for the weekend I don’t believe that 5% were wearing helmets. Amazing the number of riders in just shorts and bikini tops. (Mostly girls, this is Key West so you never know who is wearing the bikini top.)
Great weekend buy it would have been more comfortable with the Mustang seat. (I hope)
Just got back from a 300 mile ride. The Ultimate feels great. I would recommend it to everyone.
had my first significant riding this weekend with the mustang. 400+ miles for me without issue. definitely an improvement from the stock seat. certainly enjoying the rider backrest too. my wife was along for about a 250 mile ride on sunday and while i think she was definitely ready to get off at the end, it was a big difference from the stock seat, which only lasted about 60 or so before she was wanting to call it quits.
