Hey all,
Well with the guidence of the polishing gooroo...Green Ghost....I have started polishing a top tripple for my bike....started with 120...140....180....220....400....620....800....1000....(couldn't find 1200)....then 1500.....still needs probably another round with the 1500..then the polishing wheel ...then the zoop shine and zoop seal......So this is the result after the sanding with the 1500 grit....Will I ever get there???? :hmm2: SURE I WILL....BUT IT WILL TAKE TIME...:) BB

******:D GREEN GHOST...THANKS FOR ALL YOUR GUIDENCE, TRICKS OF THE TRADE AND THE USE OF SOME OF YOUR SUPPLIES....YOUR THE BEST !! :D ********

Amen....get to work! I did all that over the winter. rotors, calipers, fork lowers, kick stand, etc. good times.

If you do all that, invest in some really good soap and some lotion for your hands - they'll be sore as hell!

Hey Ibified, thanks to GG I have a really big box of gloves....they work great too...once this ones done..the others are gonna just have to wait till next winter...already staying in the 70's here during the day...So I don't plan on having much time to POLISH...well maybe my seat...with my hiny in it !!! ;)

Great job BB!! I have a few things I want to polish. What is the Zoop stuff?

Thanks Onedoublel

Green Ghost can answer that better than Me...I know he brought me some zoop shine and Its the best thing I've ever seen....that metal polish ... I had might as well be butter compared to it.....live and learn...the zoop seal...protects the final product....and GG said it lasts for a while ...forgot exactly...a couple years I think...I am sure he'll see this and let us know.....BB

Sure will....GG can tell us where...but I can tell you..he put a small amount on a cloth and did a circle on my tree, I had only gotten to the 800 grit paper at that point...and it was shining like a mirror, prbably more than these pics after the 1500......cant wait to put the polishing wheel on it today...then the zoop shine...very excited to see how it looks..I'll try and get a decent pic...someone needs to tell me how to take pics of the shiny stuff to get the full effect !! :)

BTW Ozz, congrats on the new 1800

Looks great BB. How much time have you put into it so far?
Well probably off and on three or four hours....maybe not so much..had to strip the clear coat too...just worked at it one grit at a time...get tired..walk away....no hurry...if I had the right equipment I would have been done along time agao...

Very nice BB. That'll get you sore hands. I guess I'm just a lazy sack. Unscrew bar hex nuts and set bars gently on a towel on the tank, peel off double-sided tape on triple cover, press down, re-install the bars and windex/polish as needed. Took all of *cough* 5 minutes. ;) Man now I feel guilty....
