I rode in this the every year and it is a blast. They average 200 bikes. In the past, it was an 85 mile ride. Pit stop about 1/2 way through. Ride ends at Hide Outs in Island Lake. Includes lunch, live band and a raffle (nice prizes too). Also a scavenger hunt which is much easier if you have a passenger to write down the answers to the questions.
They usually break the bikes into 2 groups. It is escorted but not police escort so you do have to follow the rules of the road. There are blockers at intersections (legality is questionable, but it works).
Wife and I will be signing up shortly. Would be nice to get a nice X contingent riding in the event. Let's see how many X riders commit. Depending on the size, I have a few ideas.
