I saw those nasty things....they looked like they had fungus growing on them and I assumed they were left there from several years ago....you should thrown them away Gastin and wash your hands with bleach if you touched them...they nasty.
2013 wv summer ride (for information only)
dates: july 5, july 6 and july 7
(3 days this time...reason to follow shortly)
location: davy and welch, wv
those of you that have been to last years ride here know most of the new info about this year, but i have extended the ride to 3 days. there will be a special event to occur on saturday, so the actual ride will take place on friday and sunday. i know some probably wont be able to make it because of the 4th being the same week, and this being the "4th of july weekend" but i was asked to do it this weekend for a very special occasion and i agreed.
so now with the standard information...
the itinerary...hopefully most will arrive thursday night.
1. the pizza place we have had dinner at the last two years is now closed...so we will be doing dinner on thursday night at pizza hut in welch.
2. friday morning will be breakfast at the sterling drive followed by fridays ride (route will be posted when i make one)
3. after the ride will be the cookout at davy and giving out door prizes donated by generous sponsors.
4. saturday morning will be breakfast at the sterling drive in followed by a short ride and then to the special event.
5. sunday morning will be breakfast at the sterling drive in followed by sundays planned ride...after which everyone will go their own ways back home.

just to let everyone know, if you wish to reserve a room for next summer...
as stated on this years ride, next years will be back on schedule...the second weekend in july.

as of right now...unless anything changes, yes. the ride will be saturday july 12 and sunday july 13. best to plan on arriving friday like last year. i will post any changes in the plans...but for the foreseeable future, it will be the second weekend of july, 2014.Jimmy,

I'd like to reprise the trip that I've heard about from 3 (maybe 4) years ago and go to the famous gorge in WV. It would be cool to ride across the bridge, stop at any overlooks and then take the trip down under the bridge if it is even open any more.

gorge is great.. you MUST go down to the river... been there a couple of times.
Well the day we checked out, we went ahead and made our reservation for next year. we had agreat time there andmostdefinitely will be going back before next year. the gorge is beautiful, we took Jim to see it on the way home. didn't go underneath because of being wet. really happy with the new friends we made while there.
