rule of thumb...never buy the first year of anything vehicle related. wait for the bugs to be ironed out. more often than not, things happen that were unforseen...and takes a few modifications and adjustments to have everything operating correctly.

Never, EVER, buy the first issue of anything, PERIOD . . . . . end of subject!!

Ditto..Remember the Pontiac Fiero's with the 4 cylinder engines that were catching fire??...I think I remember my dad (Pontiac tech back then) said it was because they had magnesium rods and the engineers underestimated how hot the engine would get in the back of the car...Been a few years now since the 1980's, so I might be a bit off on that...I do remember very clearly though, one time I stopped in at work to borrow a tool he had in his "work" tool box, and he was busy gathering up EVERY fire extinguisher in the shop and placing them in his stall where he was about to get started working on a Fiero...Service manager was NOT happy...lol...

lets not forget the Cadillac 8-6-4.... engine would burst into flames coming to a stop after running on the freeway... 8-6-4 computer issues...
mid 80's Oldsmobile V8.. aluminum rocker arms and towers.. they would eat each other up.
Oldsmobile V8 (350) diesel engine made from a gas engine.. they would ether crack the heads or push the crankshaft thru the main caps...

gee.. can you tell what dealer I used to work for...
