Took the VTX on my first cross country trip this past week. Left So Cal on Sat morning, rode 579 miles to Fillmore, Utah. Then on Sunday made it to my folks place in Southwestern Montana, 639 miles). With the new Mustang touring seat it was no problem, very comfortable, ( although I did sleep very well !)
Spent 4 days with the family and then left last Fri morning..incredible ride south thru Salmon, Idaho, then Sun Valley and then on to Elko, Nv for the night,(513 miles).
Sat went from Elko to Carson City, then down 395 to Bishop, Ca, (about 508 mi). Made it home from Bishop today at 1pm, (300 miles).
VERY impressed with this bike, (my first)... 500 mile days are no problem, the bike just purrs at 75 mph and I averaged about 43 mpg. Could not do it without the batwing fairing and windshield though!
I will be getting a cruise control and highway bars before the next long ride.
What a blast! Wish I had started doing this sooner! (I'm 57 years old!)

Cheers, Walt

I'm impressed! I couldn't go that far even if I was in my recliner!
Zomby... If the woman on your post was around, I don't think I could put on many miles, either!!:D

I put on 1,350 in 5 days for the WV ride, so 2K plus seems pretty impressive to me!!:mosh:
