I went to install 4 way flashers on my 1800R . I tapped into the blue and orange wire under the right side cover and ran them to a switch . In one direction the switch allows the directionals to function normally . In the other position , activating either blinker should flash both side front and rears at the same time like normal 4 ways . When I turn on one of the directionals with the switch on , only that side front blinks with both rears blinking . If I switch the directional to the other side , the 4 ways work like they are supposed to. It doesn't matter which directional I hit first . The same thing happens on either side . So it works , just not the way I thought it would . Do I need another flasher in line or something ? They are stock bulbs , not LEDs. Any ideas ? Thank you .

Check the wiring and circuit diagram to find the problem. Also consider the possibility of "backfeeding" one of the lights which might require the installation of a diode in the circuit to prevent.

I would think that backfeeding would NOT be an issue with an LED light. The reason for this is in the full name for an LED - Light Emitting Diode. An LED light is a diode. It will only work when the current passes through it in one direction. If you try to pass the current through it in the other direction, not only will the LED not light up but it will also not even pass the current.
