Hello all,

New to the forum...lots of information here!

Well, it's been about 12 years since I've ridden a motorcycle (and that was a dirtbike). Looking to get back into it and I've got my eye on an '06 VTX 1300C.

My first question is about handlebars. I don't particularly like the feel of drag bars, but I really like bars with some pullback. Can anyone suggest a good brand/model?

Next, what about forward controls? I'm 6'3 and am definitely going to want to push the pegs out a little farther. I was thinking about the Jardine forward controls. Any thoughts?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes on, but for now that'll do it.

Thanks,
Eric

Controls

As Shutterbug said the R model would probaly be the best choice for you. The Jardine Controls are pretty nice, But you will be stuck with one mounting point and it will use you stock rear brake master. You may want to look threw other post and see what others said about the controls. Slip944 left a link for a killer price on controls in another thread. GG :D

Welcome to the cafe. I just recently purchased the Punisher bars and have not installed them yet. I took advise from many posts to the site and decided it was the bar for me, especially after the extreme seat mod set me back about 3".

The fuel capacities for the C, R, & S are all the same. 4.8 gallons, including 1.0-gallon reserve (specs from the Honda website).

You can put the R bars and risers on the C no problem. Get the R cables as well.
Accutronics seem to be the controls of choice.

"German helmet looking fenders" Hahahahaha
Carefull - some X'rs are way too easily offended.

I know what you mean. Just something about the lines of the R that didn't appeal to me either. Maybe it's those German WWII helmet-looking fenders.
Hey now! I play this song on the stereo in the garage as I'm letting the bike warm up! LOL

Seriously, I love the look of the R's tins. But different strokes for different folks. Ride on!
