Does anyone know how to adjust the shift linkage for my 02 1800S. The heel toe shifter seems to be higher on the toe end that it should be and sometimes it interferes with my upshifting under heavy power.

Can I use the bolt that attaches the shifter to the floor board or must I adjust it through the shift linkage itself? There seems to be no mention of adjustment in the service manual.

Thanks,
Steve

If you remove the left cover to expose the shift linkage going to the transmission, there is a swivel (#3) on each end of the shaft with locking nuts (#8 & #16) holding them in place. Back off of the locking nuts at each swivel and then rotate the shaft (#13) to move your shift lever up or down as desired, then tighten the locking nuts.

I have the shop manual and I can view the manual online at the Honda Owners link. Is that where you found this image? I have been looking everywhere for this picture and could not find it.

I tried adjusting the rear swivel that goes into the tranny and got the position correct but then I had clearance problems under the case where the shifter pivot is. I could upshift but could not downshift so I am going to have to try and get to the forward swivel. I am hoping I do not have to remove the floor board and the shifter to get to it. THANKS

The image is from the Honda Direct Line (HDL) website under OEM parts.
Good luck on your adjustments. I have a "C", so don't know what all is involved or clearances with the floorboards/linkage. Had to bring mine up some and was pretty easy...everything pretty much out in the open, so no interference.

After installing floorboards I didn't have enough room under the shifter and there wasn't enough adjustment left. I had to remove the locking bolt, (part 18 in the diagram above), rotate it one click, and then had all the adjustment I needed. FWIW...
