Look it up on youtube. As soon as i can get my hands on some im doing my side covers black. Then the headlight bucket if that goes well. Then the fork covers and triples....then i gotta think hard about unlacing the spokes and doing the rim.
Talk about cheap mods! Non destructive. Just pull it off. Change your bike color seasonally or test out before painting. Cool stuff.

Putting it on unpainted metal parts might be ok, but I'm not sure what it would do to your side covers.
It will delaminate quickly, without sanding the surface, you are applying it to.

How do you plan on dipping an entire sidecover???...Gonna take alot of that stuff do do what you're thinking and have it come out right...As far as the spokes on your wheels, you would be better off getting those powdercoated...MUCH less work and would end up being cheaper too...

I've used both the kind you dip into the can, & the spray can. Even though they are the same stuff, they really aren't 100% the same. The can you dip, is more like the handles from tools. The spray is more of a rubbery spray paint. I wouldn't use them for a paint, just for painting something that you want a spongy surface, so it won't scratch another surface.

People have used the spray to paint whole cars. It's also been used on motorcycle parts.

It seems durability might be a little better than you would think, but the one advantage appears to be that if it does get damaged or you get tired of the look, you can just peel it right off with no ill effects.

It certainly isn't a professional paint job, but if that's not the look you are going for, then why not?

I'm curious! Give it a try, then post some pics. I think we all would like to see the finished product.

Yea, its the spray kind. There is a kinda goofy website at dipmycar.com with a bunch of vids.
I was just saying its kind of the same thing as the "dip" into bucket product, in a spray paint delivery allowing for even distribution.
If the vids on youtube are to be believed, people spraying their car wheels and showing them months later seem to show it holds up well.
I would love to powder coat but cosmetic changes cant happen on my budget for a while. I think this might be a good interim alternative.
