Mine comes up in March, and I am going to be up-grading to Gold this time, since I just got a great big raise (working at Glotel for AT&T Mobility)!

Re-upped. Didn't get to go Gold, since the Verdammt Glotel laid me off from the projects (to be fair, AT&T pulled the contract...think it may be sequester related). Two months out of work certainly sucks

Just re-upped and sent Ray a PM accordingly. Had to drop back to a Gold from Platinum for awhile though. Been out of circulation for some time due to my daughters cancer. Not getting into it as it has taken it's toll on me and I've had a rough time getting back on track. Getting back on the Cafe is going to help. Back, and glad to be.

I have been waiting for two weeks now, for responses from either Mortikus, or another administrator, for an address to send a postal money order for my sponsor renewal. I do not have a PayPal account. If ca$h isn't acceptable, then I guess I will just let my account lapse. Their loss.

I want to know what the site sponsorship money goes to. Is motorcycle.com just pocketing the money?
I want to know too. I think those of us that have sponsored for years deserve some feedback on this.

I reported my own post here and asked for some feedback from our owners. Hope they respond.

I think they have made it clear that they don't care about the members as long as they get advertising $$$$$. JMHO

I haven't seen a message asking for this but I will search the forum....

Yes, the money would be going to Motorcycle.com, not me.

However, I can tell you running a site like this is not a no cost business....this site cost a lot of money to run and more money to fight off hackers and DOS attacks. I can HONESTLY tell you given my workload and the amount of DOS attacks we were getting I could not have kept this site afloat this past year. The amount of DOS and hacking attacks this size websites gets is amazing....you have to ask who is paying for the staff and resources fighting them off..... they have to get paid some way....

Good insight, Boss.

It's difficult to remember that though sometimes.

You and your moderators were always on top everything, and a huge part of the whole community/family experience we all had...back then. Back then we knew our dollars were going to you and what they were spent on too...because you always told us.

Now we have faceless/nameless people. However, they do keep us up and running so that we can continue to support one another...just like we always have. They are supporting multiple forums...not just ours. They get advertisement dollars too, correct? I suppose those money's also help pay the staff, software, hardware, development, protection...etc.

Ray...did our moneys just cover expenses? Or, did you ever make money from the sites? Not worried if you made some. You deserved it with all the hours you put in for us. Or, did we cost you money out of your own pocket?

I suppose...these folks deserve a little too.

Do the different sponsor levels still get the added storage, message capacity, no ads...like before?

Just thinking out loud I guess...

Sure appreciate you X-Ray. ;)

I too feel like most of you guys, that the new owners basically have said F off. They do not communicate at all with anyone. The only reason I consider sending them any $ at all, is because I would like to continue as a member and follower of this sometimes dysfunctional family. I get a modicum of enjoyment from coming here every day, and the knowledge of the members here have taught me a lot and saved me a lot of $. So, I have some $ I would like to put up , to continue my addiction as it were. If they don't want it, it will go to the bike. I'm sure she would appreciate it more than the site owners.

Frankly, I became a site sponsor because I thought it was still being run by an individual. Wasn't aware it was part of motorcycle.com. I generally don't like "contributing" to for profit businesses so I probably wouldn't have in the first place but since the restriction exists to only have 10 PM's in your inbox at any given time, It's worth my donation for the extra space alone. I like to communicate with people and keep those conversations for further reference so when it comes time to re-up, I'll probably do so for that reason alone.
