have an 07 1300, when ever i hit the starter i get a buzzing sound like a game show buzzer, and of course it doesnt start. is this a bad starter? if so, how easy is it to replace? this bike is almost brand new and has less than a thousand miles on it, should this be happening this soon? its never started on the first try so maybe its been bad from the start. thanks for any help you can give me.

check your battery cables first off, darn dealers don't know how to get them tight.

thanks, i checked the cables, they're good. i hooked up the jumpers just incase it had gone dead for some reason, no dice. still not working. thanks though.

ok then your next step is check and make sure the cables are tight on the relay it is behind the right side cover.

also check at the starter hot lead has a rubber boot over it so make sure it is clean and tight.

Also check where the battery ground lead attaches to the frame.

ok, i checked at the starter, everything is tight and connected. i checked the ignition fuse, its good. i checked the 30a at the starter and thats good. the negative lead is connected to the frame correctly. i know the buzzing sound is coming from the starter( i assume its the starter, the box connected to the hot lead straight off the battery). so do you think my starter is fried?

Sounds like it is fried, take to dealer immediately and have them check and replace if necessary.If you have had it less than 12 mos you should still be under warranty!!!

yeah thats what i figured, how hard are they to replace myself? there doesnt seem to be much to it. thanks to all of you for all your help.
