I can only relay what some others have said who had them. I think the consensus is they aren't too good.

They got a bad rap years ago for poor customer service. I had a set of leather bags for a couple of years untill I upgraded to Tsukayu

I ordered a set of Viking bags. Just got them today so I can’t speak on the bags yet. Update to there customer service, I had a really good experience with them on live chat. I bought the bags and 2 days later they went on sale. I messaged them and asked if they could adjust the price and they did with no issues.

Don't expect the same customer service from Viking Cycles. Horrible experience with them. Took 3 weeks for them to ship my product out and the same amount of time to respond to any correspondence. Products are excellent from both companies, just beware.

Update: For me customer service was good. Installing the bags as a throw over didn’t work at all they seamed to sit too high and was a pain cause the Velcro is really strong. I hard mounted them the brackets they sent wouldn’t fit in back mounting bolt spot. I had to modify the hole to fit. I didn’t really like having to drill holes in the bag to mount it but I guess that makes it more water tight if you’re using it as a toss over. They run on the small side I bought the large bags and my half helmet will not fit in the bag without forcing it in. The bags do look really nice and they secure extremely well!

I had a set years ago and the lids became very wavy. They also started to peel back in areas. I tossed them in the trash.

And those couple examples are similar to past owners' experiences with Viking. I didn't recall details but they have made the case for my initial statement in this thread.

I just bought a set of Viking bags a week ago. Customer service was ok - their website was glitchy but they responded with order updates on the chat well enough. Bags took a week to deliver.

For $200 for locking bags - judging by the junk I saw at a few shops F2F in the $200 price range, these are terrific. Sturdy bag, good closure, i like the small bags inside. I also got the larges. I'm not pretending i'll get my full face helmet in there, but now i've got plenty of room for runs to the store without needing a backpack strapped to my sissy bar.

Install for me was an adventure, but ended well. I'm handy but inexperienced. The instructions are almost worthless, but it turns out that they did send all the parts I needed, even extended length bolts. I'm a "measure twice, cut once" anal retentive and wanted to make sure the bags were even - doing this alone took hours. I also ran into issues trying to figure out why my holes stopped lining up when I took the bolts out on both fender rails to mount the bags (the rear fender pivots down and misaligns the 3 bolt holes on each side!). Went much faster with a second set of hands.

The negative list grows longer. Good luck.

Hey Pax- I wouldn't call my decision negative- not yet any way. The install wasn't fun, but I sure do like the bags and I think they were a great deal. I'd give the product an A so far, install and ordering a B- or a C. Let's see how they age.... For now, I'd do it again.
