I want to get an led kit for my VTX-1300R, but before i order, i was wondering if anyone with experience knew the best placement for them, like if there is enough room under the tank for them, or suggested spots.

Under the tank is a good spot. Highlights the engine chrome. Under the fender rails is another nice spot. Reflects off the shock tubes....very visible from the rear. Lots of options, limited only by your imagination and budget.

There are soo many places to put them - It really all depends on your Kit and wiring. Mine are mainly on the Frame. I do not recommend putting them on the tank if you do alot of your own work unless you have quick Disconnects.

My recommendation is to Use regular tape to temporarily attach them and see how they look BEFORE using the really good Double Sided Tape!

I'm getting an Ledglow kit here soon, with disconnects. those were the spots I thought about too, the tank, fender struts, and then around the bottom of the frame. and the idea with regular tape is great! I never thought to mock it up like that. thanks alot!

they were on my profile. these are some of the colors. there are a total of 15 solids, with 2 setting the go through all the colors of the spectrum. also, each individual solid color has 3 strobing option, and 3 fading options.

Bill I think the purple goes well with you bike. I got to ride in the last Honda homecoming, for the parade of lights. Well I sent my wife to the stealer to get some LEDs for the parade. She came Back with 2 six led pods. Just within the last month I stripped the wires and tied them into my rear turn signals and mounted them under my bags.

Make sure you post pictures when you get them

Purple???...No purple man, all blue on my ride...

We also went to the final Honda Homecoming (just happen to be wearing the t-shirt right now), and rode in both light parades....Honda Homecoming was the weekend right after our wedding, so we did that for our honeymoon...Just one more reason I love my honey...She had NO problem having the wedding, and honeymoon involving the bike....:swoon:

Just a quick note. In Arizona you can not put blue LED's anywhere on your bike. It is reserved for emergency vehicles only. Most police will not ticket you if you can turn the LED's off so a good idea would be to put a on off switch.

At the moment, I have leds under the tank only,... but considering adding more under the front fender and QQ bags later, easy to do.

Same thing here in SC- buddy got ticketed for having blue LEDs on his scoot....
Yeah..lol...They say the same thing about Michigan too...I live about 3 miles from the IN/MI border and have ridden with them on MANY times up there (as well as in Ohio and Illinois)...Even to July 4th fireworks, right by several different police officers...Every LEO that has said ANYTHING about my bike has said the exact same thing..."Hey man, that's a sharp bike"...To which I reply.."Thanks alot"...
