Hey folks,
I have a 02 1800C that i took for a short ride last night with no problems. When I got back to put the bike away i had it in idle and went to open the shop. When i went to put it into gear and pull it in it was like i hit the kill switch. Now it won't go into gear without cutting the motor. I've tried going into first and second and no luck, I'm baffled. The motor will start and idle great in neutral but once you try to go into gear it's dead. If you know what i need to do PLEASE help out.

There is a kill switch on the kickstand that cuts the motor off if you try to put it in gear with the stand down. That is most likely your culprit. Check for broken wires and check the switch with an ohmmeter.

You were dead on with the kickstand kill. had some bad conections.
