Howdy peeps. So sometimes, not always, cold and hot, my engine bogs starting out in first and at low rpm in 2nd. I just bought this bike with 17000km on it. Nice guy but he didn't do much for Maintenance. The air filter case was literally half filled with what looked like bird seed. Air filter was clogged right up. New one on the way but I scraped and blew out as much as I could. Probably a full cup of crap jammed into it. I side was clean thank God! Anyway after the cleaning, the bogging got better, but still hesitates a bit off the line and I'm 2nd if I shift to early. I'm not very mechanically inclined so if you have any ideas give me the motorcycles for dummies version lol

Take the filter out, put the airbox cover back on, and try running it around a little without the filter in it. Have you pulled the plugs to see if they are fouled? That is another possibility. My 1800 only had 7000 miles on it when I got it, and had been sitting much of its life. After a couple of weeks I started having bogging, and changed the plugs. I used AC- Delco Rapid Fires #5 at first because I did not want to part with 16 bucks a plug right off the bat and the rapid fires were 6 bucks a plug. They stopped the bogging, and I ran them with no problems until I changed the exhaust and put on a fuel manager. Then I put in the NGK's. For the 1300 it looks like O'Reillys stocks NGK standard copper core plugs for only $4.50.

Haven't done the plugs yet but I plan to for sure. Threw some fuel treatment in and a couple tanks later it's not bogging. So guess we'll see what happens lol
So maybe just bad gas from sitting?
