My wifes birthday is Friday August 7th. I'm thinking about riding down to Nashville, IN and Brown County State Park and then spending the night in Bloomington, IN. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How about staying in the Inn there, or maybe a cabin?

You know, McCormicks Creek isnt too far away from there, and I prefer their trails to Brown Countys...but either is a nice get away.

Wife and I have been there several times years ago and we had a blast. Its like going to the covered bridge festival year round. We dont remember a lot of the specifics and this was before I got real crazy with picture taking so I have no pictures to show any previous trips. Do a Google search for Brown County and create your trip as you both see fit but finally, congratulations and enjoy your trip. Oh yeah, we can leave the pictures up to you this time:cheers:

The wife and I stayed at the park in a "rustic" cabin and had a blast! Make sure to shop Nashville and hit the leather store!! Lots of great accessories! Have fun and tell the wife happy bday from Noblesville! Make sure you ride 135 theough Story down to Seymour...It's the closest thing we Hoosiers have to the dragon...real live curves in Indiana!!!!

:cheers::patriot:

...sounds about right....the best part of 135 is south of Nashville...it's worth the ride! Depending on the time you come through, Indy isn't that bad...I ride to and from Indy every day for work...anytime after 9am and before 4pm is a breeze....

Absolutely true. I have ridden it only one time, but it was worth it. Haven't been back because it takes a whole day for me to get there and back. The group I rode with was 17 bikes total, the only bad thing about that day was when one of our riders lost control in one of the curves and totaled his bike. Both him and his wife recovered fine, but he still doesn't remember exactly what happened.

We got back from our trip safe and sound. We didn't get to ride through Brown County State Park, but rode on a lot of great roads. If you every get to run SR135 from SR50 to SR46 do it, the only problem we had was they had a big storm earlier this week, so there was a couple of corners with some gravel, but still an awesome ride. We spent all afternoon walking around Nashville, unfortunatly for me I injured my knee earlier this week and can hardly walk, but I was determined not to cancel this trip. It was everything I could do to get on and off the bike. Looks like I'm going to be out of commission for the next week. I would recommend this area to everyone, there were bikes everywhere.
