well got out of the house about 1:30 this afternoon temps were low 40s and humidity was around 80%

prepared myself with wool thermals and a wool scarf, off I go on the X no place in mind to go but that is the great part of the ride.

I got the 120 miles I needed to hit 10,000 miles for the calender year, some of the ride was not fun when I got near the river canyons and the truck that lost the bail of hay I almost hit (caught up with him and told him) got home around 4:30 and was frozen to the bone.

so it is now official since I got the X April 1st I have logged 10,000 miles, bike had 6901 when I picked it up and now has 16907

I did a 500mi. round trip and still did less than 2k this year and suspect less next year..I'm a normal 49 year old, your crazy...lol!

I put about 4500 miles on my bike this summer. I put about 550 miles on my Infiniti this summer. I put about 200 miles on my truck this summer. That's pretty much as it should be, I think.

I don't know if I'll catch Charlie D on the bike miles. I don't think so. But I finished the year at work with 236.691 miles. I got a new 07 Freightliner in the second week of Sept. It has 71.996 already. Looks like only 6800 on the bike this year but I felt like I rode it a lot. GG

I think this next year might be more miles, work was a 7 mile ride each way and now that the shop moved I will have to ride the bike more 22 miles each way now and my truck took $40. last week just to work and back, I know the bike would be at least half that amount.

It really isn't the amount of miles it is the enjoyment we get doing them

I take comfort knowing it's in the garage and I could take it for a spin, even though I rarely do..wipe it down, dust it off, look it over, ballgame on the radio, have a beer then cover it back up...weird but it works for me.

After 30 years since I'd been on a bike I purchased a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 in the spring. Loved riding so much I got a VTX 1300S the first of July. Total miles on both bikes 9,760 for the year. Charlie D beat me in '06, but it's a NEW year now!! And this is in the short season of Northern NY near the Canadian border. I was shoveling snow today, not riding. You guys further south have it made. Ride Safe!!!!! Gary
