Hey Guys...I think I read on the
Forum once that with the Decapped Air Box you can get at the carburetor without removing the gas tank. I can't remember if there is a way to loosen the collar that holds it in place. Is there a technique to get at that screw? Thanks for any help.

That depends on what you're doing to the carb...To get at the clamps that hold it in place to the intake manifold tubes, You'll have to pull the tank...

FYI...when you reassemble the carb afterwards make sure the choke assembly is not bent...otherwise you will have problems...

Do not ask me how I know this...I had the carb loosened several times...All it took was one time being in too much off a hurry....:banghead:

It is an easy job...trust me, if I can work on it...anyone can...

Everything still working great 3000 mi later...

Taking the tank off and setting in a safe place is the best method.

I sometimes get in a bit of a hurry doing mine and I just slide the tank back a bit and block the tail up enough to get in to that clamp.
Is it worth cutting the 10 min off the time it takes not really.
