Hi.
Winter coming in Sweden and the bike in the apartment ;-)
And a lot of things going on whit the bike.
What is the best thing to take away the corrosion I have on the cylinders?
I try softly with Crome polish.
I try whit Wd 40.
But no good results.
We put salt on the roads winter time,so I think it is salt....
Suggestions?
Sorry for my spell.
Have a nice weekend./Bo

Lots of sanding and polishing. Heavy corrosion can only be remedied with 5 or 6 steps of sanding. Maybe 200 to start, then 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, then aluminum polish. Same goes for the wheels and other exposed aluminum.

Since you have to do the hard part (sanding), maybe this thread is in play for you: Painting Engine 101
Not only does it dress up the bike but it will protect against future corrosion by allowing simply washing the salt off the paint.
Just a thought ;)

this stuff is my absolute favorite , id say it will surly remove that salt on your engine , you just have to be patient and do one blade at a time . But I recommend this stuff I just did the clamps on my motorcycle windshield that were filled with rust and just white build up and it took everything off and made them shine like brand new . I should have took pics !
