Coastal Ride in May

Hey riders. My wife and I are coming to San Diego area in the middle of may. We are renting a bike, only a harley, and heading out. Any ideas on some good coastal rides we should take?
How's the riding that time of year?

Hwy 101 from Torrey Pines to Oceanside is pretty nice. Lots of lights and traffic.
I would go out around Alpine (out I-8 east of San Diego) old Hwy 80 is a nice ride up in the hills. A few casinos out that way also.
