Boop,

Send a PM or e-mail to ioshen on this forum. If I remember correctly, he has these on his 1300. I believe he changed out to braided cables, but can probably give you a heads up as to whether or not the change would be necessary or if stockers would work. I believe he does most of his own wrenching as well, so he has first hand knowledge on it.

Good luck with your mods--btw, nice touch with the new paintwork, looks really good.

Thanks Rich,
I will email him, So far most like the new paint, I asked for opinions in another thread. The guy who did it said he'd never done one like that, I told him where I wanted the striping and the colors, he added the red, you cant see all the colors too good in photo, but they are black, gun metal gray, silver and red. I like it, different from everyone else. One day when I get done with other mods I want, maybe I'll have enough $$ for a truely custom paint job.Anyway, thanx again.

Bars

Hey Boop, The C looks great!! You may want to check at JP Cycle and look at the 1 1/2 super radius bars for the VTX. 7 in. rise 15in. pull back. 1 1/2 diam. They run $ 179.00 and are a super looking bar. I'm pretty sure you'll have to reroute the cables behind the trees instead of threw them. Or buy longer cables. Barnett 4 over runs $150.00 at extreme rev. This is for clutch and push pull throtle cables. Front brake line will also run around $ 50.00 for speglier braided 4 over. Hope this helps. :D

Thanks GG,
I actually saw those this afternoon in the JP Cycles book also. A lilttle cheaper than the punisher bars too. So you think the stock cables will work for now if we put them behind the tree's. Should not look too bad considering there's a windshield to hide them a little. huh.
Thanks Betty Boop

Pros - Typical great looks that only a T-Bar can offer. Significant change in the overall look for a "local" street bike. Good chrome finish. Unique combination of a T-Bar with actual pullback for shorter riders. Easily accepts the stock cabling.

I was talking to Rick at Xtreme, And he told me that the Punishers will hit the (dash) or speedo housing if used on Retro or S models with the 6 degree Tree's installed. If putting these bars on a R/S models make sure the trees are not in your future. Just a thought. :hmm2:

1300 C

Thanks GG,
I have a C so this should not be a problem, as long as that doesn't go for them too. Still thinking :icon_conf not sure about the punisher or the new one by cruiser performance, they have 8" rise, 15" pullback and are 33 1*2 wide. They say stock cables will work. Oh yeah:icon_ques anyone know what the pullback is on the stock T bars. That might be helpful when choosing whether I need the 13" or 15" pullback. Duh. Thanks for the help.

Hey X-Dom
Thanks for the info, I'll have to let GG know I'd be interested in his. I want to take my windshield off when I change bars, can't see covering up those massive bars.
Thanx again BB

Hey GG,
I would definately be interested in the cables. Anything to make it look better. Just let me know what you want for them. I am gonna go back to your photo's and refresh my memory on how the cables lay on yours, they have got to better than mine. right now I am glad the windshield hides most of them. Thanks for the offer, just let me know.

Hey Boop let me see if I can get them all together, I've got junk all over the place. Let you know before the weekend. I guess around a dollar a piece and you pay the freight. Chep enough?

I have had both of the CP bars, first I had the CP massive bars with the 8" rise, all my stock lines fit great, they were great bars but when the punisher bars came out I went ahead and dropped the dime on those.......there even better than the first bars, you wont regret it. as far as the lines go, your stock lines will work, the clutch line will be a little tight if you turn it all the way to the right but it will be ok. the front brake line will be ok but you will have to take it loose where it mounts to the bottom triple tree other wise it is very tight. Some people routed the throttle push/pull in the normal location, I couldn't do it because my throttle would stick, so i routed them behind the tree's. Best thing to do is use the stock cables from a from a
1300 R/S, there 2-3"'s longer than the stock 1300C cables and they will work out great for ya. I've had mine for about 1 1/2 years and wouldn't change them for anything. They also look great with the wiring run internaly....it's a PITA but it's worth it. I put a couple pics earlier in the thread below if you want to take a look.

Hi FEV1969,
Thanks for the info, Can't wait to get mine, Anniversary in about three weeks, hubby KNOWS what I want. Green Ghost sent me the throttle push pull cables from his, so I'll have them installed when the bars come in. BTW your bike is awesome!! Nothing beats black and chrome. My first bike was black, although I love candy black cherry, I sometimes wish I'd gone with the black. One good thing the swirls in the paint don't show up as much. Anyway, thanks again for the info. Ride Safe. Betty Boop

Bars Are On

Well Boop I got the bars back and installed them today. 1 1/2 Barons 7.5 rise 7in pullback. I run the wires on the inside of the bars. WHAT A PAIN IN THE AS*. I guess you'll do the same. Just tell Hubby to have a few drinks before he starts. I took the pins out of the conecters so I wouldn't have to splice them. I wouldn't want to do that for a living. :D

Hey GG,

Glad you got them on, let me know how they work out! My punisher bars came in yesterday, it will go to a friend who has a shop to put them on, but hubby and I did pull off the old ones today and held them up to make sure they were gonna be closer. Hubby says they looked about the same as the stock with the 2" risers. Just looking at them I wasn't sure, but with him holding them up my elbows were bent a little, so they must be closer, definately taller too. Hopefully I'll have it back on Monday or Tuesday and get to try them out! I'll let ya know. Have a good weekend. Ride Safe:)
