Thought I would get this thread started early. Biketoberfest is about a month away (Oct 13-16th), and it looks like the chamber of commerce down here has finally wised up to the fact that 10,000 bikers (and their wallets) can't be bad for the economy. This year, the second annual Blues Festival will be held the weekend preceding Biketoberfest, on Oct 7th-9th. The festival is being held at Jackie Robinson stadium, on Beach St., a couple of blocks South of Main St., and the old Harley dealership for those familiar with the area.
From the advertising I am seeing, alot of the local motorcycle friendly establishments like the Iron Horse, and Rossmeyers Harley at Destination Daytona are getting a jump on things, and having events early also. Looks like Biketoberfest may turn out to be a weekend to weekend event, like Bikeweek!
Hope to meet and greet some Cafe members this year.

Hey Bart,

Nice seeing you the other day.

Rossmeyer closed the Harley store on Beach St. and is turning it into a museum. Is that right Bart?

Looking forward to October. I hope we can meet up.

Hey Bart, I just stayed in the Cumberland Hotel in London, England. They claim it is the last known address of Jimi Hendrix and they have a suite dedicated to him for the 40th anniversary of his death.

Good to see you too. Sorry I couldn't stop.
The Harley shop on Beach St. will not sell bikes anymore, but will house a museum, and be an outlet store for Harley gear, shirts, hats, etc.
I am looking forward to this year, and as usual you can find me at the Cabbage Patch, ... love the live music, and they tell me they may have scantily clad women selling overpriced beer again this year !! Maybe we can try a meet and great at the Deck Down Under again, and get a bigger turnout.
p.s. I spent most of the day today at work watching youtube videos of different guitarists doing covers of Mr. Hendrix's work ... Clapton, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn ,,,nice way to kill an afternoon :bleh:

I didn't realize that the tech session was the same weekend. Guess I'm gonna be out of town that weekend. If any of you guys are considering riding over to the session let me know and we can ride over together.
Maybe we can squeeze in a ride on Friday.

bear, are you going to be triked out by then?

I'm sure my wife will be at work so it shouldn't be to hard to sneak out. I would be great if I could find work and not be able to. Tired of not working.... Don't have extra money for mods.

I thought it over and instead of driving from Ohio to Kentucky and back to Ohio for a total of over 1600 miles. Then turn around a few days later and drive to Florida. I'm going to just stop on the way to Florida and get ot triked. So yea it should be done for the tech session. If I go to Daytona on Friday I'll ride over with you John. We could meet at 27 and 4.

I'll be there. Sitting and listening to Joe King where ever he's playing. Maybe the cafe guys could plan a M&G?

Still haven't met up... or have we Bart?

I may have to head down the weekend before, then head down Thursday night... crash at Daytona's or at a friend of mine in DeLand, maybe see the festivities on Friday, swing back up Saturday, head over to the west coast... jeez now I'm confused, but honestly... I can't miss Biketoberfest lol.

That being said, maybe if the Blue Festival isn't really kicking we can go to the Port Richie suggestion the weekend before... Ang is sneakin down?? It'd be great to meet ya Ang... hey, has a gremlin bell made its way to your wing yet?? :)

I hear ya Mort the main reason I'm coming back earilier this year was for Sebring(that's even earlier and I'll miss it) and Daytona. Never been there in October so it a priority but so is the tech session. Wish I could have spent a few days in Daytona. Not sure how much help I'll be at the session, never did steering bearings and that seems to be the major thing going. I'll know how to do them when I leave though.

Bear - Streering bearing is the big thing, but anything goes, valve jobs, lights, shock bushings, front springs, brakes, etc. I know you have a wealth of knowledge.

Biketoberfest

Well, I don't get back in town until Saturday night, Oct 15. So I'll miss most of the event.

On Sunday, Oct 16, if anyone is still in town (including those that live nearby), you are invited over to my house for a meet and greet. I'll have some chow and drinks available.

If you are leaving later on Sunday, stop by on your way out to say Hi. I'll have football on the TV.

If you are interested, let me know and I'll send you a PM with my address.
