www.cruisencomfort.com and Mean City Cycles are teaming up. Cruise N Comfort make driver's back rest for the VTX's with two piece seats...sorry 1300C guys.

I will be coming up with new modifications to make the CNC back rest work great with our modded seats. I get asked all the time if I make back rest and my answer is always the same...Nope, but now teaming up with CNC we will be offering these back rest along with our modifications. A little part of the passenger seat will have to be trimmed away but it's not used anyways and we both think this is going to be a great partnership as we the two David's take on the big Goliath seat manufacturers and show them all a great seat with with a back rest dont have to cost well over $500+

Allen, I love your seat. Don't get me wrong, but are you taking their backrest and modifying that? If so, what's to stop them from taking your mods and doing it themselves or will this "new" backrest only work with your seat mod because you are also modifying the passenger seat. I guess I'm confused on how this will work.

Pete, what I will be doing is taking their back rest and putting it together with my seat modifications for the best comfortable fit. We(Mean City Cycles and Cruise N Comfort) are working together on this. Bill is a great guy and makes a great back rest for a stock seat. After I mod the seat the back rest hangs over the driver seat pushing the driver forward. I will be fixing this problem so they work great together. And I feel sure somewhere down the line someone else will start modding seats but the only way they can cut my price(which is already super low) is use cheap materials and that wouldn't be a good deal in the long run. Gel pads aren't an option in my book and until something comes along better than memory foam thats what I will be sticking with.

newbie question for badx

I really like the look of the backrest and have a stock seat, so I'm guessing that will work fine.

When weather turns colder I plan to send my seat to you for your mod, will the backrest still work with your seat mod if you know I have this backrest?

I apologize if that seems confusing but hope you get what I mean. I wouldn't know the first thing about cutting off part of the seat.

There is some work I will have to do to the passenger pillion to make everything work together.

BadX - you working with Lonnie Alsteen? I have one of his beta VTX s back rests on my 06 1300 - like it a bunch - working with him, we put an S-curve in the seat pedestal. The braket attches ot the pillion so that is a limiting factor for other mods - like I'd like to lose the pillion in favor of a luggage rack.

No, I am working with Bill who owns Cruise N Comfort. This is the first I have heard of the fellow you mentioned. I have some ideas on a pillionless back rest option but I am a looong ways to getting there.

Yes the passenger pillion will have to come with the drivers to be modded also.

Well, I got the back rest in today so now I have to get the bikes to the shop to do the modifications and see what all has to be done. I hope to have the bikes rolling in soon so I can get this going. it going to be awesome. I'll post pictures of the setups once I get them done, when you see the pictures posted the modifications will be set and I'll be ready to roll with it. I've already discussed with Bill on how quick he can get the back rest too me and he will pretty much have them ready for me or will have them in less than 3 days so with my current turn around of 2-3 weeks doing the back rest won't slow anything down.
