I've noticed a rattling noise coming from somewhere under the gas tank. Its especially loud when I'm accelerating uphill or quickly. Doesn't seem to affect performance, and I can't find anything that looks loose or out-of-place. Just sounds kinda scary - like something important is going to rattle loose!

Also seems to be running kinda hot - but this might just be me being paranoid...

Just moved across country - had the bike in storage for a couple months. Don't know if this would affect anything.

Any Ideas? :hmm2:

Press on the speedometer cluster / big chrome piece.
There is not much under the tank to rattle....PAIR valve is there, maybe a few plastic connectors for the wiring harness....stock airbox fits into a rubber bushing. I wouldn't be scared....just press around until you find it.

if it does turn out to be the headlight, you can do what I did. I studded my headlight with pillow batting. Solved the rattles completely. Just make sure you get plenty of it between the wires and the housing.

I have the 1300S and my speedometer rattles like crazy when I accelerate and stops when I hit highway speeds. I had the dealer fix the rattle but it came back a week later .I just put my headphones on and enjoy the ride. My bike is still under warranty so if it falls off I'll make Honda fix it.

When I took my headlight bezel off to install led lights and re-installed it, it made the same sort of rattle at speeds that you describe. I did what Big X suggested and that solved the problem. Just a quick easy fix if that what the problem is.
