I've been searching on the internet for a while for the perfect pair of saddlebags, as well as a touring (sissy bar) bag/roll bag combo. There are tons of options out there as we all know. Sadly I'm one of the few that are looking for the ideal, and feel I need to physically hold the bags before i can make the final choice. Does anyone out there have a favorite dealer or aftermarket shop in the carolinas? If some shops out there have a decent inventory I could make a few day trips and hopefully find something that'll spark my interests. Any feedback would help, thanks riders.

Because there is such a limited selection at any motorcycle store, I typically shop online. There is one place, Jafrum, that is located in Charlotte, NC. I have never been to their physical store, but I have visited their online store (www.jafrum.com). The other way would be to see what others are using and then purchase online.
That's all I got...sorry.

What she said; very good quality for the $$. I have the jafrum touring bag and roll top attached for less the $75 and I love mine . For saddlebags I have the large Viking Bags designed for the 1300 VTX.

PS: Jafrum is only mail order, no showroom or store.

All I can do is show you what I have.
Saddleman desperados. Studded (optional) teardrop with shock cutaway. The cutout allows you to position the bags more forward on the bike. Hiding the shock. IMO that gives it a sleeker look. I like them. Not as big as some bags out there but compliment the lines on my C nicely. You'll sacrifice some storage space too with the cutout. Also have the matching saddleman tour bag.

here's some pics.

You can see here how they mount over the shock and fit snug up to the seat. My drawback is that I have mine hardmounted so I have to take them off to get to the seat bolts. PITA I know but saddleman does have a quick release option. I'm just too cheap to get it.

Here's a few of the tour bag. It's very nice. Roomy, lots of storage, easy on and off.

ive seen these models differnt types, but my only concern for a road trip would be the roll bag, the slit on it is kinda small, did you mod it in any way, or what do you use it for. i know the main bag is big enough though. thanks in advance epi, hope no other pains have come up and you're getting your scoot all shiny and new again. :mosh::D:choppersm

That's one of my better lines I know...but even a blind hog will pick up an acorn ever once in a while. :bleh:

Back to the tour bag. Yes, it is expandable. Pretty neat really. What you have there is two bars or studs that fit into different positions on the sides of the part that fits over the sissy bar pad so it's adjustable. If I dont forget about it I'll try to get a pic for you.

Amendment to this post...did you say your sissy bar pad is 14 inches wide??? Sounds like the passenger seat from a Ford Escort.

actually Cobra description says 12 inches, but it's more like 13 1/2. it goes on round tall sissy bar. thanks alot and keep picking up acorns. and actually sissy bar it's a left over from a Pinto, so that hopefully people stay away or they'll get burned. and i dont need a pic, just wanted to make sure that they actually expanded and held.
thanks for the heads up. :choppersm

It does expand but I dont believe it goes that wide. 14 inches is really wide.
okay, thanks. my girlfriend at the time liked the extra support, actually bought it herself, so that was cool. i've seen others with it on. the bag is one of those things that has to wait till i have some some anyway, but wanted to know. some of the sites state their bag expands to fit all backrests. take care. and thanks brother, ride safe...:choppersm
