I am looking at buying some engine guard chaps. I have found a couple of companies that make them and wanted to know if anyone has any thoughts on quality.

1. Sage Brush
2. Airlite

Also, if you are running chaps, have you been satisfied with them?

I have engne guard chaps from Chilhowee and I have been extremely happy with them. I have ridden in 16 degree weather without the cold feet I felt at 30 degree before.

Don't have them but was going to suggest the Chilhowee as well. I've heard only good things about their quality. Good luck and post some pics when you've completed the installation of whatever you decide.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am leaning on buying the AirLite chaps because they fold up for saddlebag storage.

I did look at hard lowers, but did not like the idea of not being able to store them on the bike. Plus they would need an expensive paint job to match my bike.

+1 on Chillowee. You pay a higher price, but the quality and craftsmanship is OUTSTANDING
My wifes (w/studs and fringe). They easily fold into her bags with plenty of room leftover.
