I have cobra speedster shorts on my c and when in ide there is sort of a strange echo comming from them. Goes away when I give her thottle. Im thinking it may be sucking air through the gaskets. I have retourqed them about a month ago and they were lose, but I didn't have the echo back then. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thanx

Did you remove the pair valves and put block off plates on.

If not that may be what you hear.

I have the blockoff plates but haven't had time to through them in. Try to make time for it this weekend. Will post back after I get them in.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my cobras. I don't know if it was an 'echo', but it was something like that. I took the baffles out and that fixed the problem.

Hey JdubsVTXXX, how hard was it to get your baffles out. From what I have herd you take the tips out, remove a couple of set screws, and work them out with vice grips. Im thinking of trying it. How much more music does it produce?

I feel kind of embarassed because I'm not exactly sure which type of cobras I have. They were on the bike when I bought it. But to answer your question, there was 1 small screw on the under side of each pipe holding the baffle in place. The pipes you described seemed like a much more difficult process. It took me literally 45 seconds beginning to end to remove my baffles. Just 2 screws. And I can't say if got a whole lot louder. Maybe a little bit. But that may just be in my head. I do know, that whenever I come outside to fire her up, the little kids next door run inside crying with their hands over their ears. Ha!
