Hey guys,

Well, with the fourth coming up the hubby and I will have four days off, daughter is spending weekend with best friend, so we plan to jump on our bikes and ride untill we feel like stopping and spending the night someplace. Same goes for the next three days. So, my question is, does anyone have suggestions on a good long ride. We thought about making a big circle from SC (outside Charleston, where we live) through NC and GA. I would prefer to ride us highways rather than the interstate. Of course, I know at some point you have to ride it for a while, but we're just looking for a nice relaxing leisurely ride, FOR THREE DAYS !!!!!! Can't wait. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and ride safe.

Here are some great NC maps posted by Terry.

I would HIGHLY suggest making the Lake Lure area and Chemney Rock a stop. I love staying at the Lodge:

Get the in the afternoon, they take the pontoon boat out, have some wine, and just chill out. Have a good breatfast and then head on....

I would also suggest trying to go to the skyway, my first "goal" when I get my bike back on the road:

Thanks Big X, Lake Lure looks wonderful. And you are correct the Cherahaula skyway (oops spelled that wrong) is definately going to be on the route. We went at the end of April and I loved it, the dragon too. Hopefully it will be a little warmer this time. Especially since hubby has to carry all the luggage. No room for leather this time. Thanks again. Caroline

:patriot: If I were you I would ride North where it is little cooler. Go the South end of the Outer Banks and take a ferry and continue North up the Outer banks then continue north and choose routes that encompass the Chesapeke Bay Bridge/Tunnel system. You choose from there.
