Metz is in the process of making our 140/80-17 bias ply front tire!!! A email I got from them says should be ready early Spring. I'm close to needing a new front and I hope they will be ready. I have already switched to the ME880 for the rear and IMHO it's superior to the Dunny.tejasvtx said:I still have the OEM Dunnies at 13k and they still show a lot of thread. I would like to go to the Avon Venoms next, but I hear that Avon doesn't make a Venom tire for the odd size used on the 1300R's. The dunnies have worn well, but they tend to loose traction to easily.
Does Metz make a front tire for the 13R?
Hey, Roy Pittman here. I have a 1300R, 2003. I have a Metzeler me880-170/80-15b on the back. Great tire yet, can't get one for the front yet. I hear that they are going to make a 17 inch for the front. Still have the Dunlop on the front.gunnie said:I just bought a 1300S and was wondering if anyone know which brand of tire gives the best milaege and last the longest? It has dunlop on right now
thanks for the reply.

I was on another board for a while and a bunch of us sent emails in Metz and Avon, I guess Metz got enough interest to produce the front, Avon must still be holding out.blkxride said:Roy,
Check out my post just above. Metz is in the process of making a front tire for our bikes.
Did you happen to ask Jeff if they will be available in white as well as black?blkxride said:Ok all you 1300 retro guys with spoke front wheels. I just got off the phone with Jeff at Metzeler product development and the new 140/80-17F for our bikes has been delayed :icon_ange They've had another tire become more important (more demand) and that's pushed back the dated for our tire. They were expecting an April delivery but said it looked like a couple more months before it will be available. So as far as I know the only tire mfg for our fronts is still Dunlop at the moment. There was some info out there that Metz had a 140/80VB-17 for the front but it is a rear tire and not a front.
BTW, it seems that the real demand for a front for our bikes has come from Europe and not the USA. Well at least we can salute those guys for that :icon_wave
