I went to change my front pads for the first time. I removed the pin and the brake pads just fell out. Unfortunately, a small anti rattle clip fell out and I have no idea where it goes.Does it go in after the new pads or before? I tried to take the whole caliber off to get a better look, but couldn't pull it off because of the rubber sleeve its on. Can anybody help me out I saw lots of videos but no one shows where the clip goes or even how to get the caliber off of the rotor. HELP!!!!

That little spring goes in first. I know of no videos or pictures that show where it goes. Can you find another VTX1300 to examine to see where this metal spring goes? If not, try putting in in a bunch of different places. When you find the proper place, it will "look" and "feel" right. Then you can install the pads. I know this is only a tiny bit helpful but the metal spring pushes the pads so that you need a little pressure to get the pad pin hole on the pads to line up with the pad pin holes in the caliper.

Go to The above URL. It gives a complete parts illustration and listing.
If you're going to attempt your own maintenance, I suggest a Honda Service Manual. It has been a great help to me. A simpler and less complete manual is Clymer.
I have actually slept with my manuals. Falling asleep, waking up to dig back into them.
Best of Luck (although luck is useful, when it comes to keeping 'er shiny side up, I prefer knowledge and skill.)
Cheers
