If you're in the area of Ft. Gibson lake, highway 80 around the east side is a nice scenic ride with lots of twisties and not a lot of traffic.

Here's a pic, I came through Wagoner to Hulbert and then to Okay, back to Wagoner.

and here, people think Oklahoma is flat...

Hey man! I was just up there last weekend. I rode up to Mena, AR, over Talimena Scenic Drive to OK HWY 1 to US HWY 259 back to Texas. I was right there. It is some awesome riding. It was about 105 degrees out that day and it was fairly comfortable up in the hills. It cooled off at least 10-15 degres. I put on 400 miles that one day, but it was all worth it. I can't wait to go back.

Nice roads, nice hills, and some good twisties!

I've ridden that stretch of road and it's really, really crooked. Most of it seems to be floorboard grinding at 30-35 miles an hour. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm old.........

Also, true, not much traffic, but if you do meet anyone, it a sure fire bet they will be left of center. Not much room for error here. JMHO.

Really a great ride, cooler through the trees, nice views of the lake when there is a break in the trees. Expect to see critters of all sizes in on and beside the road, especially early or late. If you get a chance, ride it.

There's certainly no bail-out area to speak of so I was hugging the right side pretty tight just in case I was going to meet someone crossing the center line. It was a fun ride but not one to let your guard down on.

I think I only came across two cagers on the entire ride, which only made the ride that much better.
