Fuel Pump Relay

If you are lucky enough to have a honest dealer with reasonable prices, then call them and get a price for reference. My guess is the dealer will have to order the relay anyway so I doubt you'll save time.

My recommendation is to also check with Ronayers.com: http://www.ronayers.com/ They're reliable and have a good search on the website specifically for your bike's year/model with parts fiche so you order and receive the correct part.

I'm assuming that you need 2 new starter relays since that's what the 1800 requires. Tried to look up your bike, but you don't have it listed in your profile.

Just a word of caution: I looked up a random year and model of the VTX on both Ronayers and Cheap Cycle parts to compare prices. Both were around the same price (around $30), though Ron Ayers was a couple of dollars cheaper...no idea about shipping cost so the price difference may be negligible.

What caught my attention is that the cheap cycle parts fiche said that 4 starter relays are required, when you only need 2. At around $30 a pop, you don't want to order 2 extra ones. Just wanted to make that clear so you don't order too many.

Before ordering the relays, have your battery load tested. If the battery is bad, it may be able to prime your fuel pump and start the bike by bypassing the solenoid, but may not have the required amps for the relay.

Finally, I've read more than a few threads where 1800 owners have replaced the Honda VTX solenoid with a lawn mower's (Murray's is one). Benefit being that the relays are much cheaper and widely available.
