interesting find...great short video.

1) best option: winter or long term store: ethanol free gas if you can
2) fuel stabilizer don't generally help...only good for oxidation protection:
a) K100 does really good but freezes,
b) sta-bil is passible, least water absorbing...

I'm a Seafoam guy. The X has sat for a dozen cold winters, always topped up with fresh ethanol-free gas and 1/2 can of Seafoam. Tank looks like new inside.

I use Gumout All-in-one in the X. Lawn gear I use Star Tron (1 oz). My X hardly ever sits for more than 2 weeks, even in winter. Lawn gear, for 3 months in winter. Cut grass etc thru the first weeks of Nov; start up again sometime in March. One or 2 pulls all start right up. Carb stuff lasts longer than the piston rings o_O:eek:;)
This is kinda like oil, everybody has a favorite brand.

interesting...i don't live where i have a cold issue...but have left things as is with all my lawn stuff and things start up. i usually run my stuff dry and fill and they start right up.

as for the car or MC....i've always used seafoam. i'm gong to have to try that rust test, but if sea foams rust so much, that isn't a good thing at all.

data is data. all replicable experiments...but i'm am a bit unhappy about seafoam though.
he does have a point thought that if there were chemicals that would have accomplished this, it would most likely have been added already to gasoline.

Interesting video! I’m in CT, so it gets cold. I’ve never used any additive. If I’m parking it for a sleep, I shut the fuel petcock ( I ALWAYS shut it when I park!) and run the carb empty. If we get a warm day or two mid-winter, I’ll take a brief ride, or at least roll it out and run it a while. Never had a problem beyond using needing a brief shot of ether starting fluid on the first start in the spring.
