Well I have ordered the General Grabber 205/70/15 and Dynobeads all of it should be here in time for the weekend. Tired of replacing the MC tire so often plus the CT tire looks great on them. Any last many advice on anything I need to do to the bike or CT tire would be great. Thanks ahead of time for all the great info from this site.

be aware the tire will have mold release on it so easy on the corners for a few miles till you scuff it up good.
Also, the CT is the bomb, but you will notice that it can feel a bit funny on those parts of the road that are *sunk*... like at stop lights., when you are on the high spots. Enjoy!

Your exhaust bolts at the bottom of the muffler need to be turned around (heads to the inside, nuts to the outside).

Just thought I'd also mention that I just went ahead and replaced my muffler bolts with 1/4 carriage bolts. They're the ones with the rounded heads and the squared shank just below the head. I think I went 2 1/4" long, but it may have been 2 1/2".

The rounded head, she no rub the tire and the squared shank let's the bolt snug in secure.

All I can add to everything above is after the tire is mounted it's easier to deflate it to get it back under the fender and mounted up, then air it back up. (Most of us run between 38 & 42 psi) Then all that's left is to enjoy it... and in 40/50K replace it and do it all again :D

Only other thing I can think of is that sometimes to get the bead to seat, you may need to use a slightly higher pressure, deflate the tire and then reinflate. I read somewhere that someone actually put their tire in the sun for a while get the heat to help seat the bead. Good luck and don't forget the pics when done.

Safety

Use an air hose chuck that attaches to the valve stem. and attach hose at air compressor to stay away from the tire while it is inflating. I left mine outside in the driveway 25 ft away and slowly raised the pressure to about 70 psi and it beaded, then just unhooked the hose to deflate it before going to remove the hose and install the valve stem and inflating to 40 psi

SAFETY FIRST!

darkside is putting a Car tire on the back instead of a Motorcycle tire. thats the difference. guys do it because the Car tire lasts alot longer. do a search on it, you'll find all kinds of threads.

I went Darkside in early May of this year. I settled on a less expensive solution and went with a Douglas 205/70-15 from Walmart for $55. I've put over 2,000 miles on this tire since putting it on. The ride on the highway and superslab is MUCH improved over the MT that was on it. I went through a new MT in a single year and I wanted to be able to have longer tread life for the rear tire and as it stand right now, I should get around 25,000 miles out of this tire before needing to change it.

Dynabeads in the tire before setting the bead on the rim (3 ounces) and she rides as smooth as glass.

I'm glad I made the decision to go darkside.

I bought the General Grabber from tirebuyer for 82.00 delivered. I was only getting 3500 to 4500 miles on a motorcycle tire that cost about 150 to 250 depending on the tire. With the beads which I bought from oreillys for 8$ insted of the more expensive dyno beads and mounting I have less than a 100$ in the car tire and I was going thru atleast 2 mc tires a year so thats a few hundred to spend on chrome a year

Are you guys using the dyna beads for looks or they are better in the long run and are you mounting them yourself or do you have a stealer that will?
For me it was both, the Dyna Beads work great and as a bonus you don't have the ugly stick on weights. I mounted mine myself, but some find some local shops to get theirs mounted. (not all shops will mount it though)
