Happy Thanksgiving to you Mr. Bill and to the rest of the VTX Cafe family. Please include all our servicemembers in your prayers when giving thanks this week; they have made it possible for us to be able to have our Thanksgiving with our families while they are not.
A Soldier's Thanksgiving Day Poem:
I know we are at war,
But I hear change is in sight,
Instead of family and friends for Thanksgiving, you will
Chow with your comrades tonight,
One to your left, the other to your right.
Your regiment, your battalion,
Have now become family and friends
Living day to day in a personal sacrifice
On a mission to defend.
You are the hero's who's faces we may never get to see,
But the pride and glory that's lives in a soldier heart
Biers one word
On this day
We give thanks and honor to those brave and true,
Our banners, we will proudly wave,
The Red, White, and Blue
We will give our thanks not only to our God,
but also to every soldier for our bounties, that be.

A parrot named Harold A middle-aged man named Ed received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's' mouth was rude, obnoxious, and laced with profanity. Ed tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, Ed was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. Ed shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude. Ed, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put it in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly, there was total quiet. Not A peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, Ed quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Ed's outstretched hand and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
Ed was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the parrot continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"
