I'm suspicious because they list no mounting hardware nor mention compatible motorcycle models. I suspect, they are just generic saddle bags and you have to figure out how to mount them yourself. Their generic nature probably brings the price down -- they can effectively sell to more owners and not have to worry about helping with the install.

Because they are not model "keyed", I'd be concerned how they look once mounted. Saddle bags come in different lengths and thickness. And I've noticed that some hard bags on others' vtx just don't look right. They look too thin or too short or they are mounted too far from the bike.

Anyway, I can not speak to the quality. They sound well made but who knows.

Bottom line, in my opinion, I would not buy them. Too much of a chance that I couldn't do anything with them or that it'd look "hacked" together.

I thought they looked like the Tsukayu strong bags too. Measurements are about the same too. I ordered these. Will let ya know what I think when I get them and post some pics. I'm going to mount them with easy brackets that I already have.

Thanks Much, just sent him a PM. I already ordered them so I guess I will know soon enough. They appear to be pretty nice but we will see when I get to open the box.

I've already got easy brackets for my current bags so that's no big deal :)

Those are the Tsukayu Strong bags, going by the picture and the measurements. Great price also, the only thing that would concern me is that there is no mounting hardware . The ghost brackets mounting system moves the bags out about 2 inches from the fender and it's not as clean a look, IMHO. Tsukayu sends a specific set of mounting brackets tha keep the bags nice and tight to the bike. Probably the 120 dollar difference in the price. They aren't pre-drilled for a reason, gives each individual the oppertunity to mount them where he wants them. Look around on the site, you wouldn't want the same mount location on a C model as you would on an R or S. They are great bags and the flow they give the rear end is something no pair of Leatherlykes could ever do.

okay, a1 and mutazu make lower class hardbags as you can tell from the price. dont expect Tsukayu strongs and you probably wont be dissappointed. they also make the trunks that you see on EBay at one time for $99 dollars with armrest and rack, now going for $154, although some of the sellers are starting to bring them down in price again.
i think Bassdude has them, see this thread #10, some guys have been happywith them, others have not been.

maybe shoot him a pm, oh wait, i think he's on the road. (www.mutazu.com)

guys who have bought their trunks, some have done some modding with fiberglass to strengthen them, and some are real happy also. i dont know if this helps or not, but like everything else, it's up to you. if you know you're not getting the high priced ones, then maybe you'll be happy with them. again, they're not any of the high value ones that others get, ok.
let us know...:choppersm

+1....Pre-drilled bags are almost always drilled for a bike with stock pipes...So if aftermarket pipes are on the bike, that leaves an enormous gap between the bag bottom and the upper pipe...For a fit that looks best, I'll drill my own bags, as I don't mind the "extra work"...

In my never ending search for cheaply priced quality hardbags I have run across these: http://www.a1hardbags.com/motorcycl...ey-honda-yamaha-kawasaki-suzuki/prod_289.html

Anyone seen or heard of these? They look pretty damn good!!
Have to see how they work out. I'm kinda looking at bags, dunno what I want, not sure I want soft bags again as I had them on my 1100 and they looked good initially then drooped and faded over a couple years. Think I want hard this time. Keep us posted.

The price fiberglass bags seem to be going way down. Seems like when I was looking last year they were running around $400, about when Bassdude was doing his. I am looking for a barrel bag or trunk and noticed how low the prices are now. I may get me a set of hard bags and a trunk:smile:

I do not recommend these, the hinges are very cheap, not like the tsukayu's, the lids are no lined with carpet link the bottom, the lids have stops so they don't open all the way and no mounting hardware. backs are recessed for hard brackets so the will not work with easy brackets unless you put spacers between the bags and brackets. Sometimes trying to save a buck aint worth it.

there are others that have used them or similar ones. since you have them now, make the best of use of them. once you get them mounted, you'll probably feel better about them, or at least know that they're nice looking. if you have the easy brackets try them with the spacers...
post the pics anyway, get your use out of them.
good luck...just my $.02:choppersm:D

Congratulations in your purchase... :)

Mine are Tsukayu. They sell several models. I chose these ones because they were the largest of all... 11" wide. :icon_blah
They are all over eBay...

I think you made a good purchase. Yes, they'll fit just about any large cruiser. Mine are not the same design as yours,
but they look good... as in beautiful. ;)

Generally, they have a max of 10 lbs capacity. Trust me, any more weight w/o reinforcement will develop cracks around the mounting bolts
... ask me how I know (Stupid me.).

As someone else pointed out, the brackets should be mounted with spacers. Furthermore, with some creativity, they can easily be reinforced.

I have them on my Valkyrie, but they'll fit just about any Japanese cruiser.
Mine came with strong universal brackets ($40), which places them too far apart. :hmm2:

I paid a TOTAL $345, including brackets and delivery to my front door.

I saw that their price is now up by 10 bucks. :choppersm
