Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever painted their MS windshield? I posted something about having some discoloration on my MS Fats windshield and someone mentioned painting it. I was just wondering if anyone had done that and to what result, I'm looking for the C.R.A.P. way out for the moment, ultimately I would like to replace the plastic.

Here's a link to my original post, it might give you a better idea of what I'm looking to cover up. http://www.vtxcafe.com/showthread.php?t=69399

Thanks!

I painted mine and it looks outstanding. Someone here suggested using spray paint that you use to paint model cars since it is designed for plastic. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a small can and like I said, the results were perfect!

Yes I did that to my old one before I went the fairing route. There is a RC modelers paint called Pactra that is excellent for that.

You'll have to take off all your hardware on the shield and clean the shield spotless. Then tape off what you don't want painted. It is applied on the BACK of the shield and shows through the bottom of the shield from the front as a gloss paint job.

The only potential downside to this paint is thr Back of the shield comes out as a flat finish of the same color, BUT you cannot see through the bottom of the shield anymore. It never bothered me but I'm sure someone will chime in with something negative to say.

The paint runs around 6 bucks a can and for a MS Fats you'll need 2 cans. If you need anymore info PM me and i'll help if I can.

I tried it before i went with the paint. I couldn't ever get it to lay right do to the complex curves on the shield. I freely admit i'm not the best at tinting so it might have just been my issue. After wasting a 20 dollar roll of it I decided on just painting it.
